Yes, absolutely. However, do it sporadically. We must stress that “dying” isn’t equal to “bleaching.” Though both are about changing hair color, they mean different things.

Bleaching involves an oxidation process that removes color pigments from the hair to make it appear lighter. Without removing the bleach thoroughly, it will continue to eat away at the hair shaft, weakening the hair. Coloring or dying means adding color to the hair. So if the hair has intact and healthy cuticles, the color will not fade quickly.

However, hair dyes have chemicals. Dying Genius hair wefts too often may also lead to damage. Overall, bleaching Genius wefts’ hair or dyeing them too often will shorten their lifespan.

Like other hair extension methods, Genius wefts usually get tangled if they get overly dry. Recommend the following to your customer:

1.    Wash the Genius hair wefts using sulfate-free shampoo and special hair conditioners or leave-in moisturizer to keep the hair moist.

2.    Comb the hair extensions often to avoid tangles. If it does get tangled for some reason, comb the hair gently with a wide-toothed comb, starting from the tips of the hair and working your way up toward the roots: comb sections near the tip, then the middle of the hair shaft, and finally comb near the roots.

3.    Remy hair has intact cuticles; all hair runs in one direction and is less likely to tangle. We highly recommend you use Remy hair extensions rather than Indian hair.

Like traditional hand-tied hair extensions, the recommended minimum order is 2–3 packs to cover the whole head. For wearers with medium hair density, 3–4 packs of Genius wefts will do. Wearers with thick hair may need 5–6 packs of Genius wefts.

Genius weft install is similar to installing other weft hair extensions. There are three popular ways to have them installed. We part the hair horizontally at the back of the head for most weft hair extensions. Hold the upper half of the hair up with clips so it stays up. The wefts are usually added to the lower half of the hair.
1.    Beaded: Run the weft around the head; let the weft follow the parting line. Take one strip of natural hair from above the weft and one from below, hold them together, thread it through a little holed bead, and clip it tight. Repeat this step until many beads lock the weft in place. Release the top half of the hair, and now you have a full head of lush, voluminous hair.
2.    Sew in: Again, divide the hair into the upper and lower halves at the back of the head. This time, gather the lower half of the hair along the parting line together and braid it up, making it into a horizontal braid. With threads and a needle, sew the weft onto the braid.
3.    Beaded+Sew-in: This method combines the use of beads and sewing the hair. First, along the horizontal part line, take a tiny bunch of natural hair from the lower half, thread it through a little holed bead, and clip it tight. Do the same to all the hair along the part line. Now you have many beads around the back of the head, each holding a tiny hair bunch. Sew the weft to the hair with threads and a needle.
